Opel Mokka 2025 Updates

Opel revealed the updated 2023 all-electric Mokka with a bigger battery and more power output. The company has also rechristened the car from Mokka-e to Mokka Electric. The change is likely to have been inspired by the recent launch of Astra Electric. The Mokka Electric now comes with a 54kWh lithium-ion battery pack and returns a claimed mileage of 406km. The car is hauled by a single electric motor mounted on its front wheels. The car is available in the UAE in the GS Line and Ultimate trims. Both are equipped with a 1.2-litre, three-cylinder petrol engine.

Opel Mokka Expert Review

The 2024 Opel Mokka isn't a game-changer in its class. But it has certainly impacted the high-riding small sports utility vehicle (SUV) segment by offering buyers on a budget an affordable car. The Mokka still manages to offer some premium bits though its design and styling aren't very revolutionary. The Stellantis-owned brand's fortunes have revived lately though it's far from its glory days of the past. The 2024 Opel Mokka is available in two options in the Emirates market.

Interior

Like most compact SUVs, the 2024 Opel isn't much taller than a regular hatchback. It'll be wrong to expect proper SUV-like space in the Mokka's cabin. The dashboard is nicely laid out and is easy to operate with the physical buttons for the media system and climate control. The Mokka here is different from its stablemate the Peugeot 2008. Al models come with a 12.3-inch digital instrument display. Materials used in the cabin are much better from the previous-generation Mokka. The seats are of faux-leather. There's a piano-black and carbon-fibre effect trim all through the cabin. Use of hard plastics are minimal. There's a 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment unit that's crisp, clear, and easy to read. But most Mokka rivals have a larger screen.

Exterior

The 2024 Opel Mokka looks much different from its old, forgettable version. The new-generation Opel Mokka is one of the most stylish crossovers in its class. Opel's engineers deserve praise in this regard. The car looks sharp-edged and creasy. It has a youthful appeal. The second-generation Mokka that debuted in 2020 is available in multiple colour schemes and offers a high level of customization. The Mokka is Opel's first car to sport the vizor-style front-end design. It blends the front grille, headlights, and logo in a single and neat panel. It works well, though not as daring as the Peugeot 2008, also from Stellantis. The Mokka is 125mm shorter than its previous version. The reduced front and rear overhangs lend a more aggressive and sportier stance. The car gets all-round LED lighting. The 2024 Opel Mokka is less prominent at the back. The Mokka lettering is embossed on the lower part of the boot. The entry-level model runs on 16-inch alloy wheels.

Ride & Handling

The front seats are mounted quite high and offer a commanding view of the road. The steering wheel is reached and height adjustable along with the driver's seat. Getting into a comfortable driving position is easy. All seats are nicely padded and have decent back support. But none of the seats, irrespective of the trim, get any lumbar support. Space up-front is adequate. But rear seat space is a bit tight and getting into them is a bit of a struggle. There isn't much space to fit a child-anchor seat. Legroom and headroom are not bad though. The 350-litre boot can be expanded by folding down the rear seat. The air-conditioning system is strong and cools the cabin pretty fast.

Engine & Fuel Consumption

All models of the 2024 Opel Mokka are hauled by a turbocharged, three-cylinder, 1.2-litre petrol engine that produces 132 PS/230 Nm. The motor is mated to an eight-speed automatic. It's a fairly easy-to-drive car. But the Mokka is prone to some body lean even while turning corners at a moderate speed. The steering feels naturally weighted and is more linear in its response making it easier to steer the car accurately on country roads.

Braking & Safety

The 2024 Opel Mokka has a rearview camera, parking sensors, and a built-in sat-nav system. Adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitoring, and keyless entry are part of the higher trim. The car earned a four-star safety rating in Europe. Automatic emergency braking and lane-keep assistance are common among all models

Verdict

The 2024 Opel Mokka is a practical and fairly well-equipped car. The entry-level model is slightly cheaper than most of its rivals. The Mokka is a worthy choice for those looking for a compact SUV that gives decent mileage is easy to handle and will be used mostly in city traffic.

  • Compact five seater crossover from Opel

Recently I have opted for this compact five seater crossover. The car bewitched me in numerous manners. Say it is excellently equipped with Full LED Matrix Headlights that is fully automated. The lights will prove to be immensely utilitarian as those get switched on automatically where there is scanty light or lesser visibility. There are plenty of exquisite features like adaptive cruise control, road sign recognition, lane control, driver awareness alert, cable free phone charging and 360 degree camera view. They have nicely incorporated exclusive quality new dash now. Yet the primary functions are being still operated by the buttons.

Opel Mokka raises the bar in the compact luxury crossover segment. It can comfortably fit up to five people at one time. It has an eye-catching exterior with Opel's signature front fog lights, daytime running lights, and latest-generation LED lights. Inside, the driver's seat is very comfortable and can be easily adjusted. All the controls have been placed thoughtfully, ensuring that the driver can easily access all the important information and functions. It is a desirable package combining advanced features, style, functionality, and comfort.

  • Perfect adventurous SUV

As a proud owner of the Opel Mokka, I can confidently say that it is an outstanding SUV that offers exceptional value for money. The Opel Mokka is a stylish and capable car perfect for adventure seekers. Its nimble handling and off-road capabilities make it an excellent choice for exploring the outdoors, while the efficient engine and tech features make it practical for everyday driving. I particularly like the advanced safety features, which give me peace of mind on long journeys. Despite its impressive features, some Opel Mokka owners have reported that the ride can be a bit noisy on the highway, with inadequate insulation from wind and road noise.
